Sault Ste. Marie
has plenty of men.
Where are the
BIG BROTHERS?
Just Be You.
That’s Enough.
The word
“mentor”
feels intimidating, doesn’t it? Men hear it and think they need special skills, years of experience, or a perfect life. But being a Big Brother is much simpler than that. It’s about showing up and being there for a boy while he goes through the kind of life stuff that seems
small
to us now, but felt HUGE at that age.
Many boys are growing up without the positive male role model they need and a Big Brother (you) can help fill that gap.
Being a Big Brother ≠ having all the answers. Being a Big Brother = showing a kid they matter.
Why be a Big Brother?
Maybe you know what it’s like to grow up without a positive male role model. Maybe you want to be the kind of man you wish you had growing up. Or maybe you just want to do something that matters.
There are 168 hours in a week.
Mentoring takes
ONE.
That’s less than 1% of your time, but it could mean everything to a kid who just needs someone in their corner.
Trust me,
an hour goes by pretty fast when you’re shooting hoops, talking about video games, or showing off your collection of Pokémon cards.
